Hi, I’m Sasha Basso.
I create things.

The Main Hustle

Capiz Studio

Wardrobe + Interior Styling

Capiz Studio is an interior design consultancy

After years of working on personal design projects and design for friends, I decided to make my passion for interior design official. Capiz Studio is an interior design consultancy in San Francisco and we focus on residential design and architecture, with the goal of creating spaces imbued with meaning and design balanced with the warmth and comfort of home.

One of the constants in my life has been my passion for fashion and design.

I’m a San Francisco-based wardrobe and interiors stylist. My clients include Amazfit, Auberge Resorts, Cheribundi, Colugo, Framed + Matted, Ingrid + Isabel, Hinge Health, TablePop, and Twitter.

Angel Investing

I support founders and products I believe in.

I have a passion for supporting underrepresented founders building products that make a difference. I’m a hands-on investor, ready to roll up my sleeves and help in any way needed. I’m also a founding and steering committee member of Angels.vc, an amazing, supportive community of women investors.

Past Hustles

Same Skincare

Same Skincare is luxury skincare replicas at affordable prices.

As the co-founder and creative director of Same Skincare, I worked to develop a brand that resonated with our customers. We needed to be luxurious, but not intimidating, and provide a brand experience that felt high end but still allowed us to pass on cost savings to our customers. I worked to identify and formulate our product line, craft the brand image, design and market our Shopify site, and . After a year, I opted to pursue other endeavors, but the brand lives on.

Ochre

A personalized e-commerce manager and shopping assistant

Ochre was born out of my frustration with online shopping. I was working as a stylist and online shopping was driving me crazy. The endless hours of scrolling, dozens of tabs, lack of personalization - there had to be a better way. I imagined the average shopper who just wanted a new pair of jeans (or in Covid-times, sweatpants). Using my background in fashion, e-commerce and market research, I set out to change the way we shopped.

As the CEO and founder of a bootstrapped company, I’m involved in all aspects of starting and growing the company. From hiring and managing a tech team to designing and executing the app and website - you name it, I do it. And if I don’t know how to do it, I figure it out.

Ochre is currently on hiatus.

Adela Mei

Adela Mei specialized in clothing for petite women.

My co-founder Stacy and I curated clothing and showcased them on petite models in order to provide accurate representation for shoppers. I was the founder and creative director. We were a team of 2, but everyone thought we were a bigger company. We handled everything from buying, design and building the site on Shopify, to logistics, marketing and social media. Adela Mei was featured in Refinery29 as a destination for petite shopping.

E-Commerce

I am driven by innovation, experimentation, and challenging the status quo.

Working on e-commerce merchandising at Pottery Barn Kids was a great learning experience and helped me realize that I relish the opportunity to build and grow things, and have the creative and technical freedom to innovate and experiment. Some of the changes I implemented to the layout and organization of the department I managed are still on the site.

Web Design

Squarespace and Shopify and I are tight.

I like to build Squarespace and Shopify sites for friends, small businesses, and non-profits I’m passionate about. I’m actively engaged in my community and like the challenge of non-profit work and community engagement.

Sites I’ve built: Same Skincare / Fletcher.Studio / Friends of Esprit Park / Friends of Jackson Park / Kate Hamilton Movement / ANGELS.vc

Market Research

Gimme all the data, numbers, and segmentations.

I spent 3 years crafting complex market segmentations for big entertainment and tech companies like Disney, ABC, Yahoo, and Bravo. I loved doing it, still love nerding out on data, and still use the knowledge I gained to this day.

I turn ideas into reality.

As a generalist, I conceptualize, build, create, and take action. I know about and have done a lot of things and what this means is that I learn quickly, am motivated to solve problems, and can access my unique knowledge base to address and adapt to any situation.
